RAF Sawbridgeworth Airfield Memorial. Hertfordshire Airfields Memorial Group

The RAF Sawbridgeworth memorial is sited at the entrance to the Shingle Hall farm estatein front of the old guardhouse. This is now in use as an industrial unit.

The landowner Mr David Morris kindly allowed us to build the memorial on what we consider to be an ideal site.

The memorial is brick built and incorporates a propeller from a crashed WW2 P-51 Mustang, which was generously donated by the East Anglian Aviation Society who are based at the Tower museum at Bassingbourne near Royston.
